Southern Black Writers and Artist Association Office Duties
President: President Kateb Nuri Shunnar is the Chief Executive Officer of Southern Black Writers and Artist Association. Shunnar’s duties include defining the agenda of the Southern Black Writers and Artist Association during his tenure. He is also the official representative of the Southern Black Writers and Artist Association to other organizations and groups. He is responsible for caring out the mandates, policies, and directives of the Executive Board. He stimulates active interest in the community involvement process, provides a constructive role for the active volunteer, contribute to effective leadership and responsibility, promotes harmony within the club and among other clubs, preside over all meetings of Southern Black Writer and Artist Association.
Vice President: This individual assists the president by filing vacant positions of SBWAA. This individual also assists in the planning and goal making process for SBWAA. In the event that the president cannot attend a meeting or function this individual should be available to step up and take charge as the president.
State Representatives: These individuals are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date membership directory. This individual also should identify special needs of the state and work with others in the state to address theses needs through workshops, conferences, or other means appropriate to the need.
State Secretaries: These individuals performs and coordinates as an office administrative by storing, retrieving, and integrating information for dissemination to all members of the Southern Black Writers and Artist Association in their state. The dissemination of this information will be done by using the telephone, mail service, and e-mail. These individuals are also responsible for keeping records, taking minutes at the Southern Black Writer and Artist Association meetings, and answering correspondence.
Event Coordinator: This individual is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling events within Southern Black Writers and Artist Association and shall monitor the logistical requirements of these events. This individual is also responsible for the administration and management of events which may include workshop events, speaking engagements, retreats, camps, and other miscellaneous events.
Web Designer: This individual is responsible for the product and visual design for the Southern Black Writers and Artist Association, including e-commerce, online communities, and communication tolls. This individual is also responsible for establishing the products identity, look and feel, proposing designs, creating prototypes, designing and developing information.
Editors: This individual is responsible for editing Southern Black Writers and Artist Association memos, special bulletins, and all other special written information that must be issued out for promotion of Southern Black Writers and Artist Association in each state and on the website.
Photographers: These individuals are responsible for taking pictures of African American historical shots of their city. Also these individuals must take pictures from events and meetings and make a web gallery available for the web designer and news letter.
